The EURO 2008 sites are all within a radius of 3.5 km of the main Geneva train station (CFF) at Cornavin.
The public transport network can carry all the visitors quickly by tram.
However, all distances are short enough to be covered on foot.
During the course of big sporting events, visitors happily walk between venues in a party atmosphere.
It is in the interests of the local population to do the same, both to free up the traffic flow, but also to share in the spirit of conviviality with these visitors.
Signposted itineraries passing through pleasant walking streets and close to the main tourist attractions of Geneva connect all the sites.
5 km of EURO 2008 pedestrian itineraries are signalled in the city by almost 200 signposts. These join up with the vibrant and colourful “Fan Avenue” which connects the station with the Fan Zone.
The important EURO 2008 sites are also connected by pleasant cycle routes. Bicycles can be rented:
