Traffic flow To avoid traffic jams before and after the matches,
Saturday 7th June, from 16h00. (Portugal – Turkey at 20.45)
Wednesday 11th June, from 14h00. (Czech Republic – Portugal at 18h00)
Sunday 15th June from 16h00. (Turkey – Czech Republic at 20.45)
adapt your timings and your travel itineraries wherever possible.
Disruptions are probable given the unusual amounts of traffic on the ring road and around the La Praille area, which will be closed to traffic between the Etoile and Bachet crossroads. Deviations will be in place.
On lots of evenings there will be lots of people partying in the Fan Zone in Plainpalais and in the Fan Village at Bout-du-Monde. You would be strongly advised not to try to drive through these areas.
Slow downs must be expected. In case of very heavy traffic, deviations will be put in place at the end of the day to lighten the traffic on the roads bordering Plainpalais.
Traffic also risks being slow on the access routes leading to Fan Village at the Bout-du-Monde sports centre.
The busiest periods will probably be the same as for the three Geneva matches, with Switzerland playing in Basle on the 7th, 11th and 15th June and the matches being transmitted on giant screens in these two venues.
In general, the usual traffic principles for Geneva have not been changed, only temporary measures have been taken to direct the flow in sensitive areas.
