In recent browsers, a green bar or green padlock should appear in the address bar of your browser. When you move the mouse over the green area, the text "Verified by: SwissSign AG " should be displayed.
Click on the green area or on the green padlock to display more information. The "Security" or "Details" tab can be used to display the certificate and its details. The SHA1 digital fingerprint of the certificate must be identical to the code series printed on your personal voting card.

If the bar displayed is red or if the digital fingerprint of the site does not correspond to that shown on your voting card, call our helpdesk (+41 (0) 840 235 235 from Monday to Friday, from 8am to 6pm Swiss time, e-mail ael-assistance@etat.ge.ch).
For older browsers, verification is manual. We cannot explain in detail the procedure for all possible browser/operating system combinations, so we have just explained the main ones below.
