L'enseignement secondaire à l'échelle mondiale: bilans et perspectives
Ce volume constitue les Actes de la rencontre internationale organisée à Genève, en septembre 2004, par le Bureau international d'éducation (BIE) de l'UNESCO, la Faculté de psychologie et des sciences de l'éducation (FPSE) de l'Université de Genève et le service de Recherche en éducation (SRED) du Département de l'instruction publique du canton de Genève sur L'enseignement secondaire à l'échelle mondiale : bilans et perspectives , en préparation à la 47 e session de la Conférence internationale de l'éducation mise sur pied par le BIE.
Les dix-huit contributions réunies ici abordent l'enseignement secondaire selon quatre perspectives : le bilan, cerné à travers des indicateurs internationaux ; l'histoire, portant sur deux études de cas et la Conférence internationale de l'éducation ; la question des transferts de modèle éducatifs, d'un point de vue conceptuel, historique et sous l'angle des effets des financements internationaux ; enfin les alternatives aux modèles actuels que représentent plusieurs tentatives de réformes ambitieuses développées aujourd'hui au Nord et au Sud. L'ouvrage offre un tour d'horizon critique des plus stimulants.
Secondary Education Worldwide: Assessments and Perspectives
This volume consists of the proceedings of the international meeting held in Geneva in September 2004. It was organized by UNESCO's International Bureau of Education (IBE), the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences (FPSE) of the University of Geneva and the Educational Research Service (SRED) of the Department of Public Instruction for the Canton of Geneva. The theme of Secondary education worldwide: assessments and perspectives had been selected as preparation for the forty-seventh session of the International Conference on Education held by the IBE on the following days.
The eighteen contributions brought together here deal with secondary education from four different perspectives: (a) the present situation, as defined by international indicators; (b) its history, based on two case studies and an analysis of the International Conference on Education; (c) the matter of transferring educational models as seen from conceptual and historical viewpoints and the impact of international financing; and (d) alternatives to the present models in the form of several ambitious reform efforts underway today in the North and the South. The book provides a critical and very stimulating review of the subject.
