The aim of this call? To add to the actions organised by the Social Service for senior citizens throughout the year.
The teams responsible for the local social outreach policy, in collaboration with Cité Seniors, have issued a call for projects with the aim of giving any associations and collectives interested the opportunity to organise events or activities for senior citizens in the different neighbourhoods.
The projects will then be studied by an awarding committee. The projects adopted will be funded by the Department of Social Cohesion and Solidarity and will be organised in several neighbourhoods, bearing witness to the wealth and creativity of the partner associations.
The aspects of boosting social ties, promoting the work of the associations and collectives dealing with senior citizens and fostering active participation will all be emphasised throughout the day and will play a decisive role in the call for projects.
The actions organised in 2022, for example, included a fancy-dress parade along the lake shore, dance and rhythmic workshops and a photo exhibition.
What to do
The closing date for submissions is 30 April 2023. To participate, the partner associations are invited to submit their projects in electronic format to @email. The results will be published on 1 June 2023. You can find all the details, participation forms and conditions on the page: Submitting a project for the International Day of Older Persons.
The City of Geneva is looking forward to discovering the new contributions and to working with the partner associations so that senior citizens can take full advantage of this day dedicated to them!
