Registrations will be open from 1 June 2021 until 31 October for anyone wishing to benefit from the back-to-school allowance (ARS) 2021-2022. For the first time, this one-off assistance will be accessible to families without the usual identification documents. The ARS will be issued in the form of an electronic payment card valid in a network of partner stores. The ARS totals 130 francs per year for a child in primary education and 180 francs for a child in lower secondary level.
Every year, parents are burdened with costs linked to the start of school. Under certain conditions, they are eligible for the back-to-school allowance (ARS) provided by the City of Geneva for the 9th consecutive year.
Last year, almost 2,960 families benefited from this one-off assistance. In accordance with the decision of the Municipal Council, the ARS will henceforth be extended to families without the usual identification documents, in collaboration with the Centre de contacts suisses-immigrés (CCSI).
Registrations will be open from 1 June to 31 October for anyone wishing to benefit from the back-to-school allowance 2021-2022.
