Every year, parents are burdened with costs linked to the start of school. Under certain conditions, they are eligible for the back-to-school allowance (ARS) provided by the City of Geneva for the 9th consecutive year.

Last year, almost 2,960 families benefited from this one-off assistance. In accordance with the decision of the Municipal Council, the ARS will henceforth be extended to families without the usual identification documents, in collaboration with the Centre de contacts suisses-immigrés (CCSI).

Registrations will be open from 1 June to 31 October for anyone wishing to benefit from the back-to-school allowance 2021-2022.

An electronic payment card valid in 7 partner stores

Since 2018, the back-to-school allowance has been distributed in the form of an electronic payment card carrying an illustration of Titeuf and can be used in a network of partner stores until 31 December 2021.

Here is the list of stores which are members of the network:

The wide range of stores provides all the equipment your child might need when returning to school such as sports clothes, educational IT and electronic equipment and articles linked to music classes.
