This fun, winter facility welcomes the public on Quai Gustave-Ador from 18 January to 26 March 2023. Sports and well-being activities are organised here throughout the winter along with musical entertainment.
La Banquise is a fun winter sports area located on the Eaux-Vives merchant shipping wharf, close to the pier leading to the Jet d’eau, open from 18 January to 26 March.
Like the activities on offer at la Canopée during the summer, la Banquise will offer local residents the chance to meet up and make the most of sporting and well-being activities throughout the winter. Musical entertainment will be organised on Fridays and Saturdays from 6.30 p.m. to 10 p.m.
La Banquise comprises three separate areas: a sports zone, a well-being zone and a refreshments area.
Well-being zone
The well-being zone at La Banquise includes two wood-fired saunas (accessible in a bathing costume or bath towel), a relaxation yurt, a massage yurt, showers using water from the lake and changing cubicles.
The traditional Mongolian yurt heated by a wood-burning stove is intended for rest and relaxation purposes. A team of professional masseurs and masseuses provide a range of massages in the unique atmosphere of a heated and furnished traditional Mongolian yurt, including well-being, Ayurvedic, relaxation and Thai massages.
