Call for projects for joint funding agreements for 2021-2023

Since 2006, the City of Geneva and Pro Helvetia have joined forces to provide improved professional perspectives for Swiss performing arts troupes with a supra-regional and international profile by means of three-year funding programmes.

The troupes will benefit from a guaranteed flow of financial resources throughout this period, thereby enabling them to pursue their activities without needing to request occasional financial support from one year to the next. This combination of security and freedom will enable them to adopt a long-term vision while fostering an approach founded on research and experimentation. The troupes will also have the possibility of creating or consolidating an administrative and artistic support team.

Eligibility conditions

The call for projects is open to professional troupes which have been active for a minimum of 5 years, with at least 3 of these spent in Geneva.

Application evaluation criteria

  • institutional recognition (hosting, joint-productions); the impact of these productions on the public and the media;
  • the creation of at least two works during the past three years;
  • the tours completed within Switzerland and abroad over the past three years; the artistic project for the coming three years and the institutional partners involved;

  • the ability to conduct the financial management of projects and to diversify the sources of income.
