The Christmas market by and for children in Parc des Bastions

The children’s Christmas market will be back in les Bastions on Wednesday 7 December 2022, much to the delight of all the families in the city! Since 2007, in a heated marquee in Parc des Bastions, this event has brought together children wishing to give their books, toys or other belongings they no longer use a new lease of life.

In the run-up to Christmas, children are encouraged to put an end to waste by selling any of their books, toys, DVDs or sports equipment that is still in good condition. By selling second-hand games, toys and books, the pupils attending the City of Geneva’s primary schools are given an early taste of responsible consumption.

Enjoying a second lease of life, these objects will also make the daily life of other children a little more enjoyable. It is also an excellent opportunity to make children aware of the value of things. Any items that are unsold will be donated to Caritas Genève.

Programme

• 1.15 p.m.: arrival of the exhibiting pupils;
• 2 p.m.: doors open to the public;
• 5 p.m.: end of the event and tidying away;

The activities and entertainment organised are free.

• Musical performance by les Canards des Cropettes;
• Balloon sculpture by Gavroche Ballons;
• Pony rides outside the marquee by le Ranch de Backyland;
• Free afternoon snack for the children present;
• Food and drinks stand run by the association Saint-Jean Basket.
