Dossier d'information COVID-19: Measures taken by the City of Geneva

Work sites

After suspending all work sites on 20 March, the City of Geneva is gradually resuming work on its numerous projects while complying with the health measures in place.

Resumption of work sites from 4 May

Since Monday 4 May, work has gradually resumed on the work sites implemented by the City of Geneva linked to public areas, construction projects and the renovation of public buildings in strict compliance with the health measures in place. The conditions for resuming work on these sites are examined on a case-by-case basis and in agreement with the companies concerned with the aim of complying with the health measures established by the federal and cantonal authorities.

From March 20: closing of construction sites

In accordance with the ordinance from the State Council stating that “construction sites must be brought to a complete standstill by midday, Friday 20 March. No further activity can be carried out on these sites, subject to article 3”, all sites implemented by the City of Geneva, including maintenance of public areas, have been closed since March 20.

Only emergency work necessary to ensure the safety of people and property have been carried out.

Monitoring is organised to ensure that all construction sites are safeguarded.
