Every year, several thousand people from a wide range of backgrounds – from other parts of Switzerland, other municipalities around Geneva or abroad – set up home in the City of Geneva. To welcome them to the city, the Executive Council invites them to an official reception, which this year will be held at Victoria Hall on Saturday 24 September from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. This event will be attended by Ms Marie Barbey-Chappuis, Mayor of Geneva.
The City of Geneva organises this welcome reception for its new inhabitants in order to help anyone setting up home here familiarise themselves with the city and its authorities.
It is also an opportunity to inform each individual of the services offered by the public authorities in such diverse fields as culture, education, employment, leisure, sport, health, transport and security while highlighting issues including the fight against global warming, the reduction of inequalities and social cohesion.
Anyone who has lived in the City of Geneva since 2021 or has just set up home here is cordially invited to participate in this welcome ceremony together with their family..
