Both a film festival and an international forum, the FIFDH is the not-to-be-missed event dedicated to cinema and human rights. The 20th anniversary of the Festival will be held from 4 to 13 March 2022.
From 4 to 13 March 2022, the 20th edition of the International Film Festival and Forum on Human Rights shines the spotlight on Geneva, a leading light in the sphere of fundamental rights and peace.
Every evening, during the main session of the Human Rights Council at the UN, film-makers, human rights activists and personalities are invited to join each other in debate, compare their points of view with the public and propose solutions.
This year, the festival will pay homage to Pham Doan Trang, who campaigns to bring an end to the systematic human rights abuses inflicted on the civil society and freedom of the press in Vietnam. Pham Doan Trang won the prix Martin Ennals 2022, which will be presented on 2 June in Geneva during a ceremony jointly organised by the City. Every year, this award acknowledges human rights activists working against a difficult backdrop and often at great personal risk.
