Covid-19: closure of community centres to the public

In light of the recent measures taken by the State Council, the community centres operated by the Municipal Real Estate Agency are closed to the public.

The recent measures taken by the State Council relating to the changing health situation have caused the systematic cancellation of events and activities scheduled to take place in November 2020. The Administrative Council has therefore decided to close all community centres managed by the Municipal Real Estate Agency (Gérance immobilière municipale, or GIM) to public events.

The Plainpalais community centre will host the meal distributions operations organised by the social clubs. The Palladium community centre has been made available to the Colis du Cœur Foundation with a view to organising the food parcel distribution operation while the Môle centre has been allocated to the Department of Social Cohesion and Solidarity until the work on les Pâquis school is complete, at the earliest at the end of December 2020. The question of internal use of les Asters and le Faubourg community centres for priority needs remains to be addressed.
