Geneva at the heart of sustainable finance

From 3 to 6 October, the International Conference Centre Geneva is hosting the third edition of Building Bridges. Launched in Geneva in 2019, this initiative aims to strengthen dialogue and tangible actions in the field of sustainable finance, with the common aim of accelerating the ecological transition towards an economic model in line with the requirements of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

A partner of this initiative alongside the UN, the cantonal and federal authorities and a number of associations, the City of Geneva plays an active role in this transition, which can only be achieved by “building bridges” between the countless stakeholders of the sustainable finance ecosystem.

One of the key thrusts of the Climate Strategy recently adopted by our municipality is devoted to this issue. The City is therefore committed to fostering and strengthening dialogue with the stakeholders in the financial sector in order to contribute to reducing the greenhouse gas emissions ascribed to them while sanitising holdings and investments which are incompatible with the climate goals.

An essential catalyst for change

Held over four days, Building Bridges will include a high-level summit, more than 65 community events and a networking village. The public will thus be able to attend speeches by opinion leaders concerning the future of finance and discover the commitments, initiatives and tangible actions which make finance an essential catalyst for change.

Programme on the Building Bridges website.
