At the suggestion of the Mayor, Ms Marie Barbey-Chappuis, the Executive Council has decided to award the Médaille Genève Reconnaissante to Mr Jean-Pierre Greff, Director of the Haute Ecole d’Art et de Design Geneva (HEAD-Geneva).
By awarding him this honour, the authorities of the City of Geneva are paying tribute to the remarkable efforts of Jean-Pierre Greff since 2004, the year in which he took over the reins of what was, at the time, still called the Ecole supérieure des beaux-arts de Genève (ESBA). Having overseen the project which led to the creation of HEAD Geneva in 2007, he then fostered the international renown of this institution in Europe and beyond, thanks to the quality of the educational and artistic programme it offers.
Although he will leave his role at the end of the year after more than 15 years of tireless commitment, HEAD Geneva has become a recognised school that is constantly evolving and is a key component of both the professional fabric and the general life of the City, in which it plays a major role through numerous partnerships with companies and cultural institutions.
