The outdoor pool at Varembé swimming complex will reopen to the public on Monday 25 July

The technical analyses will continue in the indoor section of Varembé swimming complex, which will remain closed to the public until such time as it is safe. The Sports Service of the City of Geneva will nevertheless be able to reopen the outdoor pool from Monday 25 July. It will only be possible to access the pool from the outside, beside the refreshments bar.

Access to the changing rooms, located in the indoor section, will naturally be prohibited. Temporary toilet areas will be installed outside, but the public is invited to arrive already changed.

Maximum capacity

In light of the unusual circumstances and until further notice, admission to the Varembé outdoor pool will be free. However, the maximum capacity of the site (outdoor pool and surrounding area) cannot exceed 300 people at any one time. The staff will control the flow of people at the entrance and will ensure that this capacity is not exceeded. If the capacity is reached at certain times of the day, some visitors will be asked to wait at the entrance until other visitors already inside leave.

The Sports Service of the City of Geneva is in contact with the swimming clubs and schools in order to find alternative solutions for swimming lessons scheduled to be held at the Varembé complex in the coming weeks. Where applicable, the clubs will inform their members directly with regard to this matter (postponement of lessons).
