La Queue-d’Arve sports centre re-opens its doors to the public

After a long closure due to the health crisis and then the annual maintenance of the facilities, the entire staff of la Queue-d’Arve sports centre is delighted to welcome the public once again from Monday 2 August 2021.

In 2019, the sports centre treated itself to a face-lift to improve the quality of its services and the comfort afforded the public, as well as to increase the range of sports available and enhance its versatility with a view to hosting competitions. Today, la Queue d’Arve is a multi-sports centre.

The velodrome has been entirely renovated, boasting a new track made from ash, a dense yet supple wood. It is operated by the Union Vélocipédique Genevoise, which federates all amateurs of track cycling.

Local budding and experienced climbers alike, aged at least 9, will be delighted by the climbing wall with its 47 routes stretching to a height of 15 metres, as well as a 4.5-metre-high bouldering area on the mezzanine. The renovation carried out has made the climbing facilities both more modern and lighter, as they are now located opposite a large bay window. Depending on your tastes and level of experience, the climbing wall is open for 3-hour sessions or by means of a membership system covering the entire school year.

Thanks to the recent renovation work, a new discipline has made its appearance at la Queue d’Arve. With a total of four courts, squash offers you the chance to get rid of that excess energy while having fun. Badminton courts are also available.

The centre boasts 16 pétanque courts, where plays can hone their skills even when it’s raining outside, and a boxing gym, operated by the Boxing Club Genevois.
