Social housing and fall in income linked to the health crisis: rent readjustments may be implemented before the contractual deadline

The rent applicable to social housing is established according to the income of the occupants. Tenants living in social housing who suffer a fall in income due to the current health crisis may therefore have their rents reduced at an earlier date than the contractual deadline, but with no retroactive effect.

Tenants wishing to request a rent reduction due to the consequences of the health crisis must do so in writing and must send the documents testifying to their new situation in accordance with the instructions provided by the Municipal Real Estate Management Service on a case-by-case basis.

Throughout the duration of the crisis, this service will only handle requests for a rent reduction.
