Work to heighten the enclosure in the Pâquis-Centre school yard will begin on Monday 24 October and will continue for a period of two weeks. A fence will be installed around the entire yard, which will be closed from 10.30 p.m. to 7 a.m., like eleven other school yards in the City of Geneva.
Description of the work
A simple 1.8 metre-high fence will be secured to posts. The entire school enclosure will thus be raised to a height of 1.80 metres and the access gates will be replaced and fitted with badge readers. Access will be programmed for the different users.
Duration of the work
From Monday 24 October to Friday 4 November, representing one week during the school holidays and one week during school time.
Temporary solution
This temporary solution provides a rapid response to the requests of parents and residents, communicated by the Municipal Council.
Finally, it should also be noted that as part of the final phase of the renovation of the Pâquis-Centre school, a full renovation of the yard on the lake side is scheduled along with the heightening of the surrounding fence. The aim of this work is to provide the children with a prime play and relaxation area.
