This summer, experience golf in the city!

From 4 July, the City of Geneva offers people of every age the chance to play golf in the city centre, thanks to a 7-hole course that is about 4 km long, teeing off in Parc des Bastions. The course is accessible 7 days a week from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. until 21 August 2022. This activity is also open to children aged 10 to 13 from 4 to 22 July, as part of the Passeport Vacances scheme. And for the first time, “footgolf” can be played in two of the city’s parks.

Golf urbain

How can you take advantage of the most attractive sites in Geneva this summer while doing a gentle sporting activity? Simply by trying your hand at the urban golf course created by the City. Head to Parc des Bastions and tee off on a 7-hole course that will take about 2 hours to complete. As you play, you can rediscover the Promenade de la Treille, the Jardin Anglais and the Monument Brunswick. It is the ideal means of combining exercise and relaxation while enjoying the city’s parks and the lake shore.

The urban golf course is open 7 days a week from 4 July to 29 August, 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.

The disinfected equipment (clubs and balls) is provided free of charge in the chalet next to the Bastions kiosk (Place-Neuve entrance). It is managed by young people benefiting from seasonal jobs and supervised by social outreach staff. A minimum of two players is required. Groups of over 10 people are required to make a booking.

Do your children want to discover urban golf? From 4 to 22 July, young people aged 10 to 13 can take classes from Monday to Friday, 1.30 p.m. to 4.30 p.m. Registrations on the Passeport Vacances website.

Discover footgolf!

Want to try your hand at footgolf? At the crossroads of football and golf, this relatively recent sport is played with a football. By kicking the ball, players have to “putt” the ball in a container in as few shots as possible, just as they would in golf.

Footgolf can be played in the following two parks:

  • Parc Bertrand: from 4 July to 12 August, 2 p.m. to 8 p.m.;
  • Parc Trembley: from 20 June to 1 July, 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., and from 4 to 28 July, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
