Order Doesn’t Matter is an exhibition that calls visitors to a journey back in time to discover the presentation modes adopted by the MAH through its history.
Whether objects are solitary or set in context, minimal or in groups; whether walls are muted or colourful, whether furniture is recognisable or anonymous: all staging choices serve the orientation of the exhibition discourse.
From the private cabinet of curiosities to the public museum, from the oneperson project to an educational array, how does the installation, framing and pedestal of a work of art or object influence our gaze?
How does the presentation contribute to the pedagogical, artistic, historical and encyclopaedic mission of the museum?
Visitors are invited to dive into the choices of the past to consider, question and imagine the choices of today and tomorrow.
