Created in 1986, the Archives of the City of Geneva are the repository of the city’s administrative memory, working in collaboration with the different departments of the municipal administration.
The documents stored in the Archives are primarily provided by the different departments of the municipal administration while others come from private sources. These documents are open to the public and to the staff of the administration.
The Archives unit consists of a permanent six-person team which can call on the assistance of temporary staff or trainees.
