Swiss citizens over the age of 18 living in Geneva have the right to vote in the canton. For municipal elections, you must have been resident in the same municipality for at least three months.

Municipal elections 2020: second round
The second round of the municipal elections will still take place on 5 April 2020. In accordance with the decision of the State Council, the vote will take place solely by postal ballot and all polling stations will be closed. Voters can post their vote in a post-box any time until Wednesday 1 April 2020. Remember, voting by postal ballot is entirely free.
Voters who have not sent their vote by 1 April 2020 will be able to drop it off at the “Service des votations et élections” (Route des Acacias 25, 1211 Genève 26) on Thursday 2 April and Friday 3 April 2020 between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. and, exceptionally, on Saturday 4 April 2020 between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. as well as on Sunday 5 April 2020 9 a.m. and midday. Organisational measures will be taken on site to ensure that the health rules in place are respected.
