This procedure enables Swiss nationals to obtain an individual civil status certificate. This document, issued by the civil registry office of the place of origin certifies personal data such as your name, civil status or right of citizenship.

To carry out this procedure, you must be carrying one of the three payment cards shown opposite.
You must also have an identity document (Swiss or foreign), scanned in jpg, jpeg, gif, pdf or png format with a maximum file size of 5 Mb.
What are the rates and conditions?
The fee is CHF 30, to which postage is added.
Which documents are required?
You will need the following documents:
- a digital copy of your official identity document (in jpg, jpeg, gif, pdf or png format with a maximum file size of 5 Mb);
- the address to which documents can be sent;
- if the request is not for you, a copy of the identity document of a beneficiary and a power of attorney is required;
- a power of attorney is not required if a parent submits the request on behalf of a child who is a minor.
How will your application be processed?
The certificate will, in principle, be available within three working days.
