The Geneva Library is pleased to present its latest exhibition: "Pure Gignoux!", consisting of photographs drawn from the institution's collections. Geneva photographer Dany Gignoux has immortalised music legends from Tina Turner to Nina Simone, by way of Mick Jagger. The exhibition is a way of bringing unforgettable concerts back to life and getting up close to musical stars.
Dany Gignoux was born in 1944 and is an adventurer. With her camera glued to her eye or on its strap, she has immortalised the biggest legends in music: from Ella Fitzgerald to Tina Turner, by way of Nina Simone, Johnny Hallyday, Leonard Cohen and Miles Davis. The exhibition will bring back to life the finest concerts at the Montreux Jazz Festival and the Paléo Festival Nyon and get you up close to the stars.
Couloir des coups d'oeil
The Couloir des coups d’oeil programme aims to raise awareness of the documents in the collections of the Geneva Library. The reproductions hanging on the walls are a way of discovering images around a theme or person without the conservation constraints that would be involved if the originals were on show. They highlight the acquisition of records and the conservation and archiving work done by the teams at the library.
