The spirit Geneva – The international organisations district

 “The spirit of Geneva” is a circular tour around the Place des Nations, on the northern shore of Lake Geneva. Along the way, you will discover the headquarters of most of the international organisations based in Geneva, such as the United Nations Refugee Agency (HCR), the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and the United Nations Office at Geneva (UNOG).

Today, Geneva is home to almost Twenty international organisations, hundreds of non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and about 200 diplomatic missions. These institutions deal with flagship themes ranging from peace to human rights, the environment to the world of work, healthcare to telecommunications, and Geneva has accordingly become a key forum for essential international dialogue.
