Description of the circuit

This circuit takes in the districts that grew up with the urban extension of Geneva in the 20th century. Only a hundred years ago, Saint-Jean, Châtelaine, Varembé and le Petit-Saconnex were essentially rural areas. Today, the large paths of yesteryear have become major traffic arteries.

Nevertheless, vestiges of bygone days co-exist with modern constructions all along this circuit, hiding unsuspected urban and architectural treasures. Former manors and farms rub shoulders with modern residential complexes. “Bourgeois” quarters stand side by side with workers’ estates and monuments of international architecture.

Length: 7.5 km, lasting 2 hours 30
