From the Bois de la Bâtie to the Perle du Lac, discover a Geneva studded with green areas. Head off in search of former estates transformed into public parks.
Description of the circuit
You start this walk in the Bois de la Bâtie, offering sumptuous views over the city from the bridge in la Jonction. The walk leads through the districts of Saint-Jean, les Délices, le Grand-Pré and the international organisations before reaching the lake shore. A detour via the Sentier des Falaises, or the cliff path, will have you daydreaming as you stroll through the wild and romantic scenery of the banks of the Rhone.
The accompanying pamphlet also explains the historical context associated with these sites and the famous people who frequented them, such as Voltaire and Rousseau. Other information is also provided on architecturally significant buildings, such as the “Smurfs” district, Maurice Braillard’s Maison Ronde and the Palace of Nations.
Length: 4.5 km, lasting approximately 2 hours. The cliff path is not suitable for people with reduced mobility.
