The municipal libraries are presenting their new theme for 2022 – “pop cultures”. An immersion in a sparkling aesthetic comprising catchy sounds and colours, where visions of the future meet the waves of nostalgia.
Pop. Where does this word come from, that calls to mind the image of popcorn jumping in the pan? From “popular”, it would seem. But there is a reason why we have retained “pop” while removing “ular”, as it is not the same thing.
With one foot in the creativity of the people, another in an industry that produces successful emotions and yet another in foreign cultures that blend together and that we adopt – pop cultures are the theme of the municipal libraries’ programme for 2022.
