As part of a European tour, Le Patin Libre, a contemporary ice skating company from Quebec, will be performing at the Bastions ice rink at 2 pm on 31 December 2023.

Sunday, 31 December finds the Bastions skating rink hosting an exceptional event, organised by the Department of Social Cohesion and Solidarity: the contemporary ice skating show “Glide”, presented by Québécois skating marvels Le Patin Libre, the world’s first and only contemporary ice skating troupe.
This unique, free performance will start at 2 pm and will be followed by on-ice workshops involving the audience from 2.30 to 3.30 pm.
Artistic innovation
“Glide” is much more than just an ice skating show. It fuses athletic virtuosity, artistic innovation and the poetic magic of gliding. The members of the company are former high-level figure skaters, who have progressed from “On Ice” show business stereotypes to create an authentic art of gliding. The result is skating that’s firmly rooted in the 21st century.
In this performance, the Patin Libre artists will be taking the audience on an unrivalled journey, exploring a genre of ice skating that’s right off the beaten track.
After the show, the Patin Libre artists will be leading short, fun workshops – open to everyone from beginners to experts – and offering a unique opportunity to learn the art of dancing on ice skates.
