If you’re itching to get your skates on, the Canton of Geneva boasts several indoor and open-air facilities where you can go skating or play ice hockey.

The ice rink in Les Vernets is part of the City of Geneva’s range of sports facilities. It is located in Les Vernets sports centre. It includes two rinks open to both the general public and clubs. The smaller of the two rinks is an open air facility while the larger rink is located indoors and hosts major sports competitions.

The ice rinks are open to the public from October to March.
Admission and membership rates
Several types of admission are available as required:
- individual admissions (adults, concessions);
- group admissions;
- club admissions;
- season passes;
- membership.
Holders of the 20ans/20francs card benefit from reductions on admission to Les Vernets ice rink.
Ice skates are available for hire for CHF 2 per pair.

Group admissions
By reservation, for Geneva’s primary schools and orientation cycles, post-mandatory secondary education schools, the GIAP, the medico-pedagogical centre, the Saint-Gervais and Conches pre-vocational training schools and other schools making reservations via coordination for physical education and sport in the state of Geneva: free.
By reservation, for private schools, schools in the canton of Vaud, French schools and social, pedagogical and educational institutions: CHF 1 per admission.
Events at the ice rink
Every winter, the City of Geneva organises discos offering skaters the chance to dance the evening away on the ice at Les Vernets ice rink.
A fête de la glace is also held every year by the City of Geneva, with visitors discovering the different sports practised on ice.
