PRO VELO Suisse is organising a competition relating to cycling facilities on a nationwide scale. The aim is to collect the opinions and experiences of cyclists in order to prepare a league table of the most cycle-friendly towns and cities – those leading the pack and which should serve as role models – and the back-markers which still need to make an effort. This competition is organised every four years and makes it possible to monitor cyclists’ levels of satisfaction in their cities according to the measures taken and the improvements introduced.

It is a competition in the form of a survey. The questions posed relate to safety, comfort, the importance paid to bicycles in Geneva and the nature of any problems encountered. All participants will take part in the prize draw.

The City of Geneva supports this competition and strongly encourages the local inhabitants to complete the survey online. On the one hand, it offers users the chance to share their thoughts on the conditions they encounter when cycling while on the other hand, the organiser – PRO VELO Suisse – undertakes to present the local authorities with a report on the results of this survey. The winning, most cycle-friendly towns and cities will be designated in the three categories of small, medium-sized and large cities in spring 2022.

Useful information

The dates of the competition are set for 1 September to 30 November 2021. Please take a few minutes to answer the online survey available here.

The Prix Vélo is supported by the Federal Roads Office (FEDRO), the Velosuisse inter-professional association and the Conference of Cities for Mobility. PRO VELO Suisse is the umbrella association which defends the interests of cyclists. It brings together 39 regional associations active at local level and more than 39,000 individual members.
