With the Geneva Chamber Orchestra and the participation of the Cathedral Choir. Concert and conversation with the essayist, Jacques Attali, on the theme of culture as an instrument for peace, on 16 June 2022 at the Cathedral Saint-Pierre.
For 45 years, the Barbier-Mueller Museum has endeavoured to increase awareness of arts and cultures from around the globe. For an exceptional charity evening, it has invited the essayist, Jacques Attali, and the public to share their ideas on culture as a potential instrument for peace.
A great music-lover, Jacques Attali has led several orchestras around the world (Paris, Grenoble, London, Jerusalem, Shanghai, Astana, Helsinki). At the beginning of the evening, he will lead the 42 virtuoso musicians of the Geneva Chamber Orchestra. The ensemble will be joined by the Geneva Cathedral Choir, bringing together some sixty amateur singers.
Conversation with Jacques Attali
This one-off concert will be followed by a conversation with Jacques Attali on the theme of “Culture for peace”, chaired by Pascal Schouwey.
The proceeds of this event will be donated to the UNHCR, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees which, for over 70 years, has helped millions of people start a new life, in particular refugees, stateless people, internally displaced people and asylum seekers.
