Viewing under influence at the Art and History Museum

Journey through time and through the methods of presentation adopted throughout the life and times of the Art and History Museum. The “L’ordre n’a pas d’importance” exhibition examines how presentation impacts the way we view things. Open until 29 October 2023.

The "L'ordre n'a pas d'importance" exhibition explores the scenographic methods favoured throughout the life and times of the Art and History Museum. From a private cabinet of curiosities to a public museum, a monographic project to didactic packages, how does the way an object or work of art is staged, framed or anchored affect the way we view it?

How does scenography contribute to the educational, artistic, historic or encyclopaedic missions of the museum? The public is invited to take on-board the choices of the past in order to consider, question and imagine those of the present and future.
