Psaumes 42 et 55, Kyrie eleison, Ave Maris Stella
Five pieces dealing with the human fear, comfort and trust, between deep despair and hope for eternal life. The prayer, the request for grace of the faithful believer is represented as the link with God. These pieces, composed by Brahms and Mendelssohn in the 19th century, are inspired by religious or poetic texts. The compositions are written for choir, soprano soloist and orchestra (Schicksalslied by Brahms, Kyrie eleison, Psalm 42 and 55 by Mendelssohn), as well as for solo soprano and orchestra (Ave Maris Stella by Mendelssohn).
Under the direction of Marie-Isabelle Pernoud, these touching compositions will be performed by Clémence Tilquin, soprano, the Chœur de Pontverre and the Orchestre de Chambre de Genève.
