LATE NIGHT | Concert + Club night
➢ Jeff Mills presents Tomorrow Comes The Harvest feat. Rasheeda Ali & Jean-Phi Dary
➢ Stacey « Hotwaxx » Hale + Lea Lisa + ADSR Geneva
➢ Ambiant room
On Friday, May 10th, at the Grand Théâtre, from 7 pm to 2 am, Electron will make the beats resonate on all floors of the famous institution. On the agenda, a return to roots with Jeff Mills, a pioneer of Techno in Detroit, and his Afrofunk-Electro-Jazz project "Tomorrow Comes The Harvest," which aims to merge Techno and contemporary music in a grand show. Following the passing of Tony Allen, the originator of the project alongside the one also known as "The Wizard," Jeff Mills has reconfigured it today to function again as a trio with keyboardist Jean-Phi Dary, inviting the brilliant flutist Rasheeda Ali to join them to continue "exploring the unknown by crossing senses and rhythms through a series of improvisational movements." An exceptional live performance to see in the main hall!
In the atrium, another legendary figure from the Motor City will be at work behind the decks. Electron is thrilled to welcome Stacey "Hotwaxx" Hale, revered as the "Godmother of House," and for good reason; she was the first woman to spin House music on the radio in the late 1980s and has played a major role as a DJ in shaping the soundtrack of our lives for several decades. She will share the decks with Lausanne's own Lea Lisa, a passionate digger and spiritual protégé of Kerri Chandler.
In the magnificent Blue Bar, the walls will vibrate with the modular sounds of the highly inspired Geneva collective ADSR,bringing groove through the rhythms of eight musicians - 141-M3T, Alexandre Tissot, Boodaman, Giselh, Oktet, Photocell, Tchola, and TheseShapes.
Finally, the first floor of the GTG will be transformed into the colors and shapes of the Electron 2024 visual, psychedelic and delightfully inflated, in a dedicated Ambient Room aimed at providing festival-goers with a bubble of serenity amidst the electronic excitement of this Late Night.
