Event in French.
Niki de Saint Phalle, Louise Bourgeois and Annette Messager: three women, three artists, three lives. Nathalie Piégay weaves together three fascinating stories, in the interweaving of everyday existence and artistic adventure. She describes their solitude and the madness that drives them to create their work, while at the same time trying to understand the links between them.
Little by little, she discovers everything that connects them: maternity, cruelty, revolt, femininity, but also the invention of characters, the use of fabric and sewing, and many other motifs.
"3 nanas" is the title of her book, which brings together all these women's destinies.
Nathalie Piégay
A former student at the École normale supérieure, Nathalie Piégay teaches modern and contemporary French literature at the University of Geneva.
