Quintet Bumbac brings a new vibrancy to Balkan melodies. It's the eclectic sensibility of David Brossier, a French composer-arranger-performer who one day decided to go off and learn from the great masters of Moldavia and Romania. A true call from elsewhere, to experience traditions from the inside.
Bumbac's five stringed instruments blend their timbres and playing styles in spellbinding rhythmic and melodic "loops", practicing a personal art of mosaic where sound colors of multiple origins gradually form a single design, a single voice. An innovative creative adventure and an invitation to share a singular sensory experience.
Concert organized by Ateliers d'ethnomusicologie and AMR, with the support of the City of Geneva and Fonds culturel Sud.
