Food and markets during the pandemic

As major meeting points, all markets had been suspended since March 16, in accordance with the Federal Council ordinance. However, isolated food stands have been opened on the Plaine de Plainpalais and on Place de la Navigation since April 16 to sell basic food products from the region.

Re-opening of markets

From Monday 11 May 2020, all markets , except Grottes market, reopen (usual hours and days). Regarding sanitary measures, merchants are required to respect and enforce the protection plan defined by the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (Seco) .

Other points of sale for local products

To limit your movements or avoid supermarkets, consult the list of grocery stores and other food outlets which have remained open or offer a home delivery service on the following webpage: Shopping in the current situation . These comply with the health and safety measures required by the authorities.

16 March -11 May: suspension of the markets and opening of individual food stands
