Occupe l’Alhambra: hip-hop festival for young concert-goers

The evening will begin at 6 p.m., with a hip-hop stage of young artists from Geneva. The concerts will continue into the early hours. The programme rivals the major events of the summer and includes Zacharya alias ZKR, a French rapper enjoying huge success. His performance is scheduled for the end of the evening. Before that, the artists Doria, Kenzy and Jeune Hustler will have the chance to showcase their talents on the stunning stage of the Alhambra.

By for the young for the young

The challenge of organising this event was taken up by a group of fifteen young people, supported by the Youth Service and its social outreach staff. This experience allows young people to play a key role in the local dynamics and to acquire the tools and skills that will help them in the future.

The collaborative organisation promotes the urban culture of Geneva, projecting a positive image of young people who will subsequently be able to organise events without any assistance.

At the same time, a team from “Pense à ton soss” will be on-hand to broadcast prevention messages (concerning noise pollution, waste and the reduction of conflicts while also distributing health-related equipment). This peer project has demonstrated its effectiveness on a number of different occasions.

The participation of young people and their access to leisure and cultural activities are values fostered by the Department of Social Cohesion and Solidarity.
