The Executive Council of the City of Geneva, in collaboration with the association of cultural guides "Genève Escapade", offers the opportunity for newly arrived residents to discover Geneva, participating in free guided tours in French and English.

The City of Geneva and the asssociation of cultural guides "Genève Ecapade" offer the opportunity for newly arrived residents to discover Geneva, participating in free guided tours in French and English.

Themes

The proposed tours are based on the following themes:

  • Geneva, its history and institutions: During a walk in the Old Town, evocation of the key facts of Geneva's history as well as the functioning of its institutions.
  • Women who made Geneva: Another approach to Geneva's history through the story of several women who have contributed to its influence in fields as diverse as art, politics...
  • International Geneva: A tour starting at the lakefront and passing by the major international organizations, which will allow you to understand their history, particularities, and how Geneva became the "capital of peace" and multilateral diplomacy.
  • The Escalade Celebration: A dive into the heart of the famous battle of 1602 and the traditions attached to it.

Times et dates

The walking tours, which last about 1h30, take place every Sunday morning from 10h30 to 12h, in all weather conditions, from Sunday October 9, 2022 to Sunday December 4,
2022.

Tours in two languages

For each date, two tours are offered on the same theme, one in French and one in English.

For the sake of quality, visits are limited to the first 25 registrants. Participants receive a confirmation within 48 hours of registration and a reminder stating the details in the week before the visit.
