From autumn through to spring, eight concerts at affordable prices will take you on a journey through a range of musical aesthetics, showcasing local artists and ensembles from more distant horizons.

The season of Sunday Concerts at the Victoria Hall opens with two concerts for the price of one. Fabrizio Chiovetta performs two cycles of romantic “Lieder” by Franz Schubert, for voice and piano, on Sunday 17 September. “Die schöne Müllerin” at 11 a.m. and “Winterreise” at 5 p.m.
In October, the ensemble Cantatio under the direction of John Duxbury, will bring together talented young professionals to perform a selection of choral music, focussing on less well-known pieces from the repertoires of Purcell and Handel.
This will be followed in November by “Soleils nomades” performed by Geneva Camerata which, to celebrate its 10th anniversary, will invite the singer Paloma Pradal to take a journey through nomadic music (baroque, classical, flamenco, gypsy music, etc.). December will see a concert for families combining classical music and hip-hop, performed by the Orchestre de Chambre de Genève and Compagnie Käfig.
The New Year will begin with the “Vespers for the Blessed Virgin” by Monteverdi, performed by the I Gemelli ensemble. There will be Argentine tango in February with the Cuarteto Tango Indigo, sung by Maria de la Paz.
In March, the two flagship ensembles of Geneva – the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande and Gli Angeli Genève – will perform a selection of works by Machault, Gesualdo and Stravinsky. The season will be brought to a close in April with the organ of Diego Innocenzi and the Choeur des Collèges de Genève.
