Renting a public building

This procedure enables you answer offers for the allocation of public buildings advertised in the local press.

Who is this procedure intended for?

This procedure is intended for all citizens.

You can only apply during a public subscription. No spontaneous application, outside competitions, will be taken into account. The lessor reserves the right to open a public subscription to third parties through the press.

Where to consult competitions?

Competitions are organised approximately six months before expiry of the contract. Announcements are issued on the Public establishments page and in the different newspapers:

  • FAO;
  • Tribune de Genève;
  • le Courrier;
  • le journal des Cafetiers.

The specifications are available from the reception of the municipal property management service or for download from the aforementioned page. The City of Geneva is free to choose the leaseholder on the basis of the conditions stipulated in the specifications, which may differ from those currently in force.

Which documents are required?

Your application must be accompanied by all the following documents:

  • copy of an ID document and/or excerpt from the commercial register (legal entities);
  • certificate of solvency (last tax declaration, balance sheet and PP);
  • certificate from the prosecutions office;
  • type of activity envisaged and financial plan.

What to do?

You must download the business premises rental request form below, print it, complete it and return it to the municipal property management department (contact details below).
