The 9th edition of the Aternatiba festival will be held in Parc des Bastions on Saturday 2 September 2023. More than 120 organisations, associations and companies, active in such varied fields as responsible consumption, sustainable mobility and the social and solidarity economy, will be on hand. Round tables, conferences, workshops and films screenings will also be on the programme from 28 August to 1 September.
Supported by the City of Geneva, the Alternatiba festival serves as a showcase for local organisations committed to ecological transition and the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. It promotes a more desirable society based on cooperation, human ties and pleasure in simple living.
In Parc des Bastions
On Saturday 2 September 2023, the public will have the opportunity to discover numerous organisations spread across 6 themed islands and to participate in a wide range of activities, games and workshops. The City of Geneva will be present with an information stand run by the Agenda 21 - Sustainable City Department and a cargo bike dedicated to the consultation process relating to the future municipal blueprint (PDCOM). Local citizens will be invited to become "urban planners for a day" by participating in a survey and thus contributing to the creation of the city of tomorrow.
A wide-ranging and accessible programme
Alongside the festival, 5 days of conferences, film screenings and debates, activities and theatre will also be on the programme. Mr Alfonso Gomez, Mayor of the City of Geneva, will open the first conference of the week, entitled "small fora and the end of the world: the ultra-rich faced with the climate crisis".
